A professor of chemistry and environmental sciences, Somenath Mitra, has been experimenting with solar cells made from polymers that will eventually power everything from houses and cars to lap top computers and other electronic equipment. At this time Sungate Energy Solutions can tell you that the current standard solar cell is made of silicon. The solar technology of the future will have solar cells made of coating of polymers dissolved in solvents.
Solar energy is already an inexpensive, clean and alternative source of power. Mitra is working on solar cells that will create the ability for people to have on printed material that can be placed on the roofs of cars as well as on walls and roofs of buildings. When the sunlight hits the organic cells, the energy produced will create positive and negative charges which will be separated and sent to different electrodes creating a current. The cells would be linked electronically and then form a panel. Nanotubes will conduct the electronic flow. Mitra is hoping that one day these will become simple and inexpensive sources of power. Homeowners will be able to build their own power stations with ease and simplicity.
Unfortunately, this technology is years away. Sungate Energy Solutions has the solar answer for homeowners today. It’s an easily installed system and the decrease of the size of energy bills is instant. Please visit Sungate Energy Solutions’ website for more information.
